Book on Music and Medicine

My first book, to be published by Greystone Books, explores how we are hard-wired for rhythm and song. Music isn’t just entertainment, or a series of torturous exercises we remember from piano practice – it’s an innate human experience that can help restore health, bind us to each other (even at a chemical level) and bring joy.

My forthcoming book delves into the new science behind music as medicine. I'll investigate how global cultures use music as a healing strategy, and uncover the lineage of music-making stretching back to humanity’s early beginnings, when our Ice Ace ancestors were fashioning flutes from mammoth bone. Regardless of musical talent, each one of us can tap into the power of music to soothe or invigorate the body and mind. We’ve all got rhythm. We’ve got song.
